Fran enjoys an enviable reputation as an outstanding landscape photographer;
she has written and illustrated two books: "The Peak District", published in 2008 and "Light and Shadow - The Art of Landscape Photography" published in 2010.

Jim is well known to members of the Society and we look forward to a stimulating evening.

Paula and Guy go on photographic holidays around the world and often stand quite close together when taking photographs, but rarely produce similar pictures. Guy shows his view of the world, mainly taking the broad view, and then Paula shows her prints, more often concentrating on closer details.

David has photographed over thirty different sports and continues to look for more. He has published both articles and pictures. He seeks to capture actions that reflect the nature and spirit of sport.

Alun is a location photographer specializing in Landscape archaeology and architecture; he works for English Heritage.

Martine is well known to us all as one of our national “treasures” and we welcome her back to give her own bubbly presentation on architectural photography.

Beyond the Frame

Niall has a passion for using photographs and photography as a way of introducing people to the wonder of the natural world.

His initiatives include Rewilding Childhood and Meet Your Neighbours and he has published books and articles on nature photography and cultural topics.

He was a founding director of Wild Wonders of Europe and a founding fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers and is on the team of 2020Vision.

His most recent book, Outdoor Photography Masterclass, was published in 2010.

Prize-winning member and former President of the Society, Jon, will show us some of his wonderful wildlife images and give us an insight into how he makes them.

A mountain photographer and member of the Alpine Club but with a wide ranging interest in landscape photography.

A skills day providing an opportunity for members to receive more personal tuition in the skills required to obtain full value from Photoshop (or Elements)

Charlie will show us a selection of images of views of wild life which include the Tropics, Scandinavia, Falklands, E. Europe and Staffordshire. He has a particular interest in birds and leads photographic groups.

Although a producer of many creative images, his greatest love is landscape. He is known for his infra red images of historical monuments but has a world wide range of landscape photographs which he is presenting in his current talk.

This talk aims to answer this and other questions. It includes some technical details and attempts to give an overall view of the compositional elements and tonal control that she uses.
